Lectures: Include slide show and trunk show.
Workshops: There are Half-Day (3hrs) workshops and Full-Day (6hrs) workshops for you to choose from.
Half-Day Workshops:
Often in a seminar there just isn’t enough time for full day classes. Half-Day classes are also good if you want a class before or after a lecture. Here are some classes that are perfect for three hours of sewing success. These classes give a smaller range project, achievable within the class period.
Class Fees:
Class fee thru 2011 will be $450 per lecture or 3 hour class, $600 per six hour class, $700 and $1,025 respectively for no sale/ percentage situations.
Seminar Lecture special:
Have Ellen scheduled for 2 class days and a lecture and get your guild lecture for $50 off.
Have Ellen scheduled for 3 class days and a lecture and get your lecture for $100 off.
Not seeing exactly the class you’d like me to teach? Ask me. I’m happy to build a class for your guild’s needs.
Always expect a wonderful selection of wall hangings for you to see up close and in person. I also make my own hand-dyed fabric, threads, stabilizers and quilts available as a resource for sale for your guild.
Travel expenses extra.
If your guild has a no- sale policy or a percentage they require from teacher’s sales, my fees are slightly higher.

Lectures
Ellen Anne Eddy Seminar Suggestions
If you can have me as your speaker for more than one class day, here are some suggestions for classes that blend together well. Also, seminars allow for extra studio time. So often people in class want to see everything. And I want to show them everything. We often do that, but studio time for students suffers. A longer class allows for hands-on time where they can try everything, and where I can help troubleshoot for them.

The Beautiful Beast
A slide show exploring the images of animals in the quilt world. Whether they are pets or alter egos, metaphors, or mentors, or a mirror of our reality, we live in a world full of animal imagery. We’ll look at that rich vein of symbolism through the eyes of quilters who are fascinated by beautiful beasts. Recommended for groups who are more interested in quilting stories than in techniques.
The Color Cookbook Approach
A slide lecture offering a gentle and personal approach to color uses. We’ll discuss color choices from dye-pot to fabric selection to thread usage. We’ll examine the effects top name quilters get through their color choices, and show you how to personalize color formulas to work for you. Recommended for anyone wanting to expand their color vocabulary in their work.
The Thread Magic of Ellen Anne Eddy
A slide show and discussion of my own passage as a quilter and artist. From my beginnings as a traditional quilter, I’ll show how I’ve developed my own techniques in machine quilting and embroidery, embroidered appliqué, reverse appliqué with solids and sheers, three-dimensional appliqué, naked needle, specialty threads, and machine beading.
The Visual Path
We explore the elements of design to make nature quilts that move and that move you. The design concepts are easy to understand and so much fun. You'll see how to build a path through your quilt that feeds the eye and the soul. The lecture focuses on taking geometric forms, translating them to organic shapes and creating nature quilts that live, move and breathe.
Thread Magic
A slide show and discussion of machine embroidery and quilting as a design element in contemporary quilting. Techniques discussed include Stitching in the ditch, echo quilting, quilting as line drawing, garnet stitch, machine beading, machine embroidery and machine embroidered appliqué. Recommended for groups with an interest in machine work or as an overview of thread magic techniques.
