Welcome

Happy Valentine's Day!
I had a married friend who told me a secret. Even if you're married, you need to be your best valentine for yourself. Who knew? I just thought I'd met the guys who didn't know where to buy flowers. Mostly we make our own joy. So with that in mind, here's some fun things that are new at the studio!

New Classes!
Ellen is offering new classes with small project booklets. A 12" square project that gives you the time and space to focus on learning technique and finishing what you've started. These will be one day classes, strictly project oriented, for beginning and medium skilled students who want to focus on production.
Ellen will continue to offer Thread Magic classes, but as master classes, that assume certain skill levels. Those will be freewheeling design and technique classes set to open doors and possibilities rather than to accomplish a set project. Here are a couple of the new workshops:
“ Dragonfly Sky"
This workshop uses the book and step by step directions for a dragonfly in moonlight and focus on skills in Angelina fiber, bobbin work, soft edge appliqué thick and thin threads, thread magic appliqué, direct, shagged and cut away appliqué machine beading, globbing, and couching. This 6 hour class should be an easy to finish project for beginners. $15 Booklet and stabilizer kit fee. $25 Fabric Kit: Optional.
“A Quick and Easy Ladybug’s Garden”
We will explore using oriental brocade, cut away and direct appliqué techniques, soft and hard edge stitchery to make this lovely ladybug perched on her leaf.
This 6 hour class should be an easy to finish project for basic beginners.
$15 Booklet and stabilizer kit fee $25 Fabric kit: Optional
New Lecture!
“The Visual Path!”
We’ll explore the elements of design to make nature quilts that move and that move you. The lecture focuses on taking geometric forms and translating them to organic shape to create nature quilts that live, move and breath.
