Sheer Magic Jacket/Vest

Everyone likes wearing fairy clothes. This jacket or vest is done in two
layers of organza, one embroidered and one as the lining. It was featured in
the Sulky Stabilizer Book and shown on Simply Quilts Skill level: intermediate to
expert for 1 Session, 6 hour project oriented class See contract for class pricing

Materials for jacket or vest
For a jacket:
4 yards of plan polyester/ nylon organza

For a vest:
3 yards of plan polyester or nylon organza
lace, organza and or brocade scraps
I will bring in several jacket and vest patterns. You are
welcome to bring one of your own that you know fits you
well. Look for patterns that have no darts and as few
seams as possible. Decorative threads?
Metallics, rayons, irridescents, both thick and thin.
each `metallic or thicker thread should have a light
-weight, #40,rayon thread to match)
Gimp or crochet cotton
Steam a Seam 2 12” wide ( optional)
Smoky monofilament nylon thread
Handler’s Rinse a Way Stabilizer
Scotch tape

Tools:
Sewing machine with darning foot
#90 Jeans or topstitching needles
Extra Bobbins (5?10)
1 pair, scissors
Chalk
or quilt-tac
Extra bobbin case (optional for Pfaff and Drop in Bobbin Machines)
Lo Ran Needle threader
Chenille needles(large eye hand sewing needle with a sharp point)


I do bring threads and stabilizers for this class. I am not set up to bring in
